That Is Why We NEVER Cancel

On Saturday at 4pm it looked like we would have snow and ice covered roads come Sunday morning. It was not looking good for the 9am or 10:30 service. I was thinking we would set a record for our noon service as people would have to wait until them.

Nope......The snow stopped at 9pm. The wind dried the roads and on Sunday the roads we completely snow and ice free. It was Amazing. The truly amazing thing was the number of local churches that were canceling all services for Sunday as early as 5pm on Saturday.

I have always believed that CSF people actually look forward to our Encounter Services and would not want to miss unless they just had to because of the weather conditions. So we never cancel............

As a reminder for the next time. Lets say that one Sunday morning the roads are too bad for safe travel. Don't forget that most days the roads are clear by 10am. So, just sit and relax and plan to attend the noon service.

One more reminder.....for all you weather weenies who did not come yesterday because you had it in your mind on Saturday that their would be 10 ft of snow on the roads, go ahead and listen on-line to yesterdays message and that will prepare you for next week in our How To Kill Your Marriage series.

Daily Bible reading: Luke 21

The verse that stood out to me was verses 1-4. The story of the poor widow who gave to the church only a few pennies. However, Jesus said because her gift was given out of an actual sacrifice that would cause her to have to rely on God in a faithful way for her needs......then her gift was more in God's eyes than the wealthy who plunked in a few big bills but that was nothing close to a sacrificial gift that may alter how they live.

It is my prayer that in 2008 we will have more and more CSF people make a commitment to be a faithful part of the mission of CSF by obeying God and giving a tithe of their income....even if that means they have to adjust their lifestyle a little.
