Addiction

Over the last few weeks I have read amazing stories of people who say that they are addicted to video games, incest with their daughter, drugs, alcohol, sex, sports, text messaging and the list goes on. What is addiction? How does a person get so addicted to something that they are willing to throw away their families, job, friends and even personal health to obtain and have that which they are addicted?

What does the Bible say about addiction? This Sunday I will continue our SIMPLE series by talking about addiction. One simple thing we can do to have the best life possible is to avoid harmful addictions. From what I am hearing...this SIMPLE series is shaping up to be a life-changing series for many. I pray that you will do everything in your power to be here this Sunday and bring a friend. This topic must be addressed and we must learn the SIMPLE truth of learning how to avoid addictions!

If you were wondering.....this Sunday is also for those who have fallen into some sort of addicted lifestyle and want to get out! Email a friend....call a friend...do what you have to, but get your friends here! Also, this will be a great message for your High School kids!

Today's Bible Reading Romans Chapter 9

Have you ever wanted to "talk back to God" about why he made you the way you are? Ever feel like your lot in life is not as good as someone else? If so, this chapter is for you. Paul very clearly tells us that God is the great potter and we are the clay. Some were born into wealthy homes of privilege and others were born into poor homes that causes them to struggle or every piece of food.

Who does God love more? Neither! He loves us all the same. We can either choose to do our very best with what God has given us....or we can whine and complain. However, we should never allow our selves to fall into the "blame-God" syndrome or the "why-me?"
