It Really Is Simple

There are some things in life that are hard to understand. A Cyclone that kills over 100,000 people in one day, an earth quake that takes the lives of thousands of kids in school, tornadoes ripping through and killing people while they sleep and the list could go on. (Be sure to pray for these hard hit people!)

However, there are aspects of our life that are really are Simple. Things that we can do to give ourselves a better life and a life that is blessed and joyful. The simple choices between right and wrong, wise and unwise, good and bad. Our life is the SIMPLE sum total of the choices we make. The book of Proverbs is chalk full of wisdom and principles that allow us live a more healthy and enjoyable life. This week we begin a new series called SIMPLE.

Today's Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians Chapter 2

In this chapter you see a man who takes the ministry that happens in a local church very serious. Paul understands the stakes are high a people's eternity's hangs in the balance. He talks about the personal sacrifice that he and others make so that teaching, care and helping others happens in the church. He reminds us that we serve in the local church not looking for praise from other people but completely for our audience of ONE. He says we should not strive to please people...but God alone. However, He says that his personal hope, joy and the "trophy" or Crown in which we Glory is in the people he is serving.

What a great picture of group of people working together for the good of the Team. For the greatness of the Church. Paul is very clear that their is no "I" in team and no room for selfish and self centered people. I love the fact that so many people who call CSF home actually serve and are a part of our Team.
