Mother's Day Mania

Yesterday was a great day at CSF. Scott Canada did a wonderful job singing the Trace Adkins song...."Your Gonna Miss This." It was funny to hear different people ranging from High School kids to older adults who commented about "I had never heard that song...but I really liked it...it was so true and beautiful." When they were told it is a popular country song, they were like....Really? I have said it before, Country Music is loved by all who give it a chance because it is music about the story of our lives. Also, these days it is the largest seller of any genre of music! I digress....

Mother's Day was another packed house! Moreover, the services were meaningful and hopefully we all left with the determination and principles to enjoy every day that we have and not miss out on today as we only dream about tomorrow.

I am not sure what you did for Mother's Day, but, hopefully it was a nice time to be with family and friends. As typical, the Hibbard's did not stay home....we kept on the move. We took Kelly to her favorite spot: The Mall. After a late lunch we headed over to the Concord Mills Mall. While there, Peyton asked if he could use his left over race car tickets he had from a previous time at the NASCAR Speed Park. His mom of course said it was fine, so we headed outside of the mall to let Peyton race. While he was waiting in line and Brady was running around climbing in and out of the smaller race cars that were shut down, A police man came running out of the Mall telling us that a Tornado had touched down not to far away and was reported to be moving in our direction. I scooped up Brady and whistled for Peyton and we all headed back into the Mall.

I thought.....only the Hibbard family would be outside at a race track when a Tornado rips through. The storm did come through with a torrent of rain and wind...but no Tornado. Anyway, I hope your Mother's Day experience was not that crazy....but I hope you had fun!

Today's Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians chapter 1

This is a quick and small intro chapter into the book of Thessalonians. However, it has some powerful attributes and character traits that are things that each of us should desire in our Christian lives.

Paul describes the Christians there using these words:

*Labor that prompts Love
*Inspiring Endurance
*They were imitators of goodness
*Model to other believers
*Servants of God and not chasers of Idols!

Do these describe you and your Christian life?
